If you are like me, you probably spend a lot of time in Microsoft Teams meetings. Sometimes, they are productive and engaging, but other times, they are boring and tedious. That’s why I’m excited by the Copilot features that can make your meetings more fun and efficient. In this blog post, Talk Of The Tech will focus on key features with Copilot in Teams meetings
1. Summarise key discussion points
Do you ever get lost in a Teams meeting and wonder what the heck is going on? Do you wish you had a way to quickly catch up on the key points and who said what? Well, you’re in luck, because Copilot can do that for you. One of the coolest things Copilot can do is summarise the main discussion points during a meeting, so you can see where people agree, disagree, or just ramble. To use this feature, you need to turn on transcription for the meeting. Then, you can click on Open Copilot from the meeting controls at the top of your meeting window and watch the magic happen. Copilot will generate a summary on the right side of your meeting window, so you can follow along or review later. Copilot is like having a personal note-taker who never misses a thing.
2. Suggest action items
Copilot is not only good at summarising meetings, but also at helping you get things done. It can scan the meeting discussion and suggest action items for you and your team, such as who needs to do what and when. This can help you to avoid confusion and procrastination, and make sure everyone is on the same page. To use this feature, you can either click on More prompts below the Copilot compose box and pick List action items, or type your own prompt in the Copilot compose box, such as What do we need to do after this meeting? Copilot will then generate a list of action items for you, so you can easily assign them to the right people or add them to your to-do list.
3. Generating Meeting Notes
If you want to create meeting notes that are clear, comprehensive, and impressive, then this is for you. One of the amazing things Copilot can do is create meeting notes that capture the key points of discussion, action items, questions, and different perspectives by topic. This can help you to have a complete and clear record of the meeting that you can easily share with others or look back to later. To use this feature, you can either click on More prompts below the Copilot compose box and pick Generate meeting notes, or type your own prompt in the Copilot compose box, such as Write a thank-you note to the meeting participants that includes the summary and the action items. Copilot will then create meeting notes for you, so you can save time and impress your colleagues.
4. Wrap up a meeting with clear next steps Do you want to end your meetings on a positive note and make sure everyone knows what to do next? One of the amazing things Copilot can do is help you to wrap up a meeting with clear next steps a few minutes before the meeting is supposed to end. Copilot will send a prompt to remind you that it’s time to wrap up and ask you to open Copilot to see a summary of the key points of discussion and the agreed-upon next steps. You can also use Copilot to check if there are any loose ends or unfinished topics from the agenda, or any other questions that may help users to understand the meeting wrap up. Copilot is like having a friendly moderator who knows how to keep your meetings on track and on time.
Our Final Thoughts
ITo sum it up, I think Copilot for Teams Meetings is the ultimate meeting game-changer. It’s going to be the star of the Copilot for Microsoft 365 suite, and it’s going to make your meetings so awesome that you’ll never want to miss one.
